Baglamukhi Mandir

Kanjawala, a village in the Indian capital, Delhi, and Rupali Enclave, a residence colony in that village. The village is now gradually getting to urbanization.

Kanjhawala has been at a distinctive place from the Vedic era. There was an incomplete ancient temple in the village, collecting several fabricated stories. There were also many narratives that belong to the temple. There was a 7.5 feet long boulder, and it also had several stories. But the major one was that the boulder and the incomplete temple belonged with Daitya Guru Shukracharya. They say that the Guru Shukrachaya performed rigorous penance by sitting on that boulder and then he was awarded with Brahmashtra by the lord Brahma. Then the Guru Shukraharya passed the knowledge of Brahmashtra to daityas  so that they can stay immortal during the war of Sura-Asura.

Anyways, it was one the narratives that has been repeatedly told by residents of the villagers. But now, Kanjhawala’s urbanization has started. Places close to Kanjhawala like Mundaka, Rani Khera, amd Bahaddurgarh are now turning out to be industrial areas of Delhi. Naturally, Kanjhawala too has to have the effect of developments. It began when builders entered the area and started to sell lands and plots.

When builders started to sell plots in Kanjhawala, they never touched the boulder and the temple and spared the land so that someone can rebuild that temple.  The villagers, then, tried to rebuild the temple but due to several odd events, they dropped the idea. They started to see it a bad omen as they were not able to build it again. They were afraid of not even talking about it but also, thinking about it.

But it is said that if there is the cause of social welfare behind any action or work, then the godly powers themselves take up with you in fulfilling that task. This matter reached Guru Maharaj Atulya Nath by some of his contacts. Villagers then discussed about the boulders established by Daitya Guru Shukracharya.

Guru ji inspected the temple premises and set on the boulder and started penance. He instantly felt something but he did not discuss that with anyone. But he announced to construct a grand temple of Goddess Baglamukhi. Villagers were surprised by what Guru ji announced but then they agreed on what Guru ji wanted. The land developers also agreed and gifted the landed to build the temple of goddess Bagalamukhi.

But when the builder donated the land to build temple, he applied three conditions. The first one was that he would not finance the construction, second that the construction work should complete in 32 days and third was that noting should be affected in newly constructed colony.

It seemed that time was testing Acharya Atulya Nath because neither the builder nor villagers would support financially and the temple construction should complete in 32 days only. Guru ji considered about the proposal and then he decided that the temple would be construction on the conditions that the builder and villagers put on.

Then the construction of the temple began. First of all, boulder was cut and sent Jaipur for the construction of the statue of goddess Bagalamukhi. It was decided that the statue would be created with that particular stone only. But, it wasn’t easy as there was no caver ready to carve a statue of goddess Baglamukhi out of that Bhata stone  (A type of stone type). Those who agreed to carve the statue started to get mishaps.
